Thoughts

Thinking of my Mum, today on her Birthday, 4th March. I have a gift, you cannot see Of heartfelt love and memories This special gift, the angels bring Is priceless though, weighs not a thing Carried through the sunlit skies On wings of doves and butterflies A loving wish wrapped tight with love To one I lost living above

Mum, you had so much life and vitality in you, you were so independent and went on many adventures sometimes on your own, you were so interested in your surroundings, could relate great stories to us all. I still can’t believe you are no longer physically here, that you have left us, and even though I know you have gone to a better place, in Heaven with God, and other loved ones of ours, I will miss you so much. I will miss hearing your voice on the phone, those long voice messages you used to leave us, I will miss all our lovely visits to you. I will miss our conversations we had about books, ones we had just read, many of which you had given to me, and television programmes we had in common or not. You always encouraged me when I was down and had that special way of making me laugh, sometimes at myself. You told me in more recent years about how you loved reading your bible, and took great comfort from it. You collected special bible verses and stuck them on your walls along with many family photographs which you loved to have displayed everywhere they could be. Please also know that I have always loved you dearly and I always will. You will be forever in my heart... Rachel xxx

Poem Dad wrote for Mum about Mollie shortly after Mollie passed away... IS MOLLIE COMING ? Is Mollie coming ? Her eyes and whole being move in eager anticipation. Of course she's coming. We fiddle with the lead round her soft brown ears and wriggling neck To find the silver collar ring. We're ready. She's ready - for all the best and brightest things: The next adventure. Will it be the car ? Yes, probably, First of all, at least, looking out onto the whizzing world From her own look-out seat. Then the walks. That's what it's all about. Well, runs, really: Mad scampering muddy chases after hidden searched-for balls In fields and parks and sun and glorious air. At home, she is quiet and tired and good and still, And loves her little bed by the window: but she is alive to every sound. Later, years later, the days are more fragile, And there are visits to the man in the white coat. The air is darker under the silent sky. Is Mollie coming ? Well, not today. Today is different from the days we used to know, And she has taken her joy and excitement to another place. I think she has gone to where there are throngs of people And bushes and trees and grass and smells, and where the sun shines Endlessly on laughing leaps and jumps on happy waving hills - And where everything is always good about everything.
